The pubic area has been reported to be one of the anatomical areas of the body with the highest rate of keloid scar formation. In this area, the tension of the skin is not as remarkable as the frontal chest area and around the shoulder region. In the pubic area, the greatest cause of keloid formation is recurrent infection due to hair folliculitis. In this area, we have primary resected keloids with a focus on infection, and associated with post operation therapies such as radiation, steroid injection and meshed tape pressure bandages. We have had good results with this treatment method, and conclude that primal surgical treatment should be selected positively for keloids in the pubic area similar to keloids in the ear lobe.
