Steroid injection is a procedure that has been conducted as adjuvant
therapy after keloid/hypertrophic scar excision. Steroid injection can
lead to possible complications such as skin atrophy, steroid purpura,
hypopigmentation and telangiectasia. However, this procedure is cost
effective because it can be conducted in private clinics since it does
not require any special equipment. In this report, we present a new
treatment that combined both steroid injection and steroid ointment
application following a uniform protocol after surgical keloid/hypertrophic scar excision.
