A 21 year-old woman presented with a recurred keloid on her chest in
June 2005. She had undergone surgical excision and electron beam
irradiation for keloid on her chest 5 years earlier. A total dose of 30
Gy in 15 fractions was administered over a period of 3 weeks. The
recurred keloid was rectangular in shape and 3 by 8 cm in size, which
was the exact position, shape and size of the area of the previous
radiation. Therefore, chronic dermatitis after high-dose radiation was
suspected to be a cause of the keloid recurrence.
