[ Background ] Stretching is an essential factor in keloid development. Here, we observed keloid vessel stretching directly. [ Methods ] Keloids were taken from the central chest of male patients. Each sample was stretched and observed directly using a blood flow imaging device (Bscan-Pro, TOKU Co., Ltd, Tokyo). Changes in vessel length at the edge, and in the erythematous and central portions, of the keloid were measured. [ Results ] The vessel length rate [stretched vessel length / unstretched vessel length] of the edge was 1.84, and of the erythematous and central portions was 1.22 and 1.08, respectively. [ Conclusion ] Vessel stretching in keloids may be related to keloid activity. |
